Effective September 2026
Introduction
Respect for privacy and confidentiality is important to Emile Farms, operated by Les Fermes Émile Gariépy (“Emile Farms”, “we”, “us” or “our”). For this reason, we put effective control measures in place to protect the confidentiality of the personal information in our custody.
This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how we collect, use, disclose and store the personal information you may provide to us when you use the fermeseg.com website (the “Website”) or communicate with us. It also sets out our commitments regarding the management and protection of personal information.
By accessing the Website or contacting us through it, you consent to the collection, use, disclosure and storage of your personal information in accordance with this Policy.
Who does this Policy apply to?
This Policy applies to anyone who visits the Website or communicates or interacts with us by any means, including our customers, suppliers, business partners and visitors. Our employees and job applicants are subject to separate rules.
What is personal information?
Personal information is any information that relates to an individual and allows that person to be identified, either on its own or when combined with other data. It may include, for example, your name, email address and contact details, as well as any similar information you provide to us. Such information is not considered personal information when it is aggregated and cannot be linked to an identifiable individual.
Sources of personal information
We collect personal information about you from:
- You, when you provide it to us directly (for example, by filling out the contact form or writing to us), and when information about you is collected automatically as you browse the Website.
- Third parties, when they provide us with information about you. These may be service providers who help us, for example, analyze how the Website is used or host and secure it.
Personal information you provide voluntarily
When you use the Website’s contact form, or write or call us, you may voluntarily provide certain personal information (such as your name, email address, phone number, company name and the content of your message) so that we can respond to your request, communicate with you and offer you the products and services you are interested in.
Personal information collected automatically
Cookies — When you access the Website, we use a browser feature called a “cookie” to automatically collect certain non-identifying information about users, such as the Internet Protocol (IP) address, the name and version of the web browser, the operating system used, the date and time of access, the web address from which the user reached the Website, the language selected, and the pages and sections viewed. A cookie is a small text file containing a unique identification number that identifies the visitor’s browser (but not necessarily the visitor) each time the Website is visited.
We use cookies to administer the Website and to analyze how it is used so that we can improve it. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie or to refuse cookies. However, if you refuse cookies, you may not be able to use some features of the Website.
We use cookies that are essential to the operation of the Website. Non-essential cookies (for example, analytics cookies) are used only with your consent, where the law requires it.
Purposes for which we collect personal information
We use the personal information collected about you for the following purposes:
- To respond to your inquiries, quote requests, orders, questions or comments;
- To manage our business relationship with you or your company;
- To personalize and improve your experience on the Website;
- To carry out analyses and statistics on Website use so that we can better understand the interests and needs of our visitors;
- To analyze user data in an aggregated and anonymous manner;
- To detect security incidents and protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent or illegal activity;
- To take any other action for which the personal information was collected;
- For the other purposes described in this Policy or permitted by law.
Tracking information — We may use non-identifying information about users to create general reports about the characteristics of Website visitors. This information is used to administer the Website, to better understand your interests and to improve the Website.
Electronic communications — If you provide your email address, we may use it to respond to your request and, with your consent where the law requires it, to send you communications about our products and services from time to time. You may unsubscribe at any time.
Disclosure of personal information
We do not disclose to a third party the personal information contained in the file we hold about you, unless you consent or the law permits or requires it (for example, in the case of an investigation by law enforcement officers). Personal information about you that is sent outside our company is sent in a way that ensures its confidentiality, even if you are the recipient.
Disclosure to our service providers — We may share your information with third-party vendors, consultants and other service providers we engage to perform tasks or provide services on our behalf. These include, in particular, our Website hosting and maintenance providers and our website analytics providers (for example, Google Analytics). They have access only to the information needed to carry out their mandate.
Disclosure outside Quebec — Our service providers, as well as our affiliated entity Emile Farms, LLC (Coral Gables, Florida, United States), may process or host personal information outside Quebec, including in the United States. In such cases, we take steps to ensure the information receives adequate protection in accordance with applicable law.
Disclosure to government bodies — We may disclose personal information about you to government bodies authorized by law to obtain it, when we have reasonable grounds to believe the information may be useful in an investigation of unlawful activity, to comply with a subpoena, warrant or order of a court or competent authority, or to protect our rights and property.
Business transaction — If Emile Farms is involved in a merger, sale or other restructuring, we may disclose your personal information to the organization resulting from that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information.
Retention and security of personal information
Retention — The personal information we hold about you is kept in a file whose purpose is to allow us to respond to your requests and manage our business relationship with you.
Security — We take and apply the security measures necessary and appropriate to ensure the confidentiality of the personal information in our possession and to protect it against loss, destruction and theft, as well as against unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use and modification. Personal information is accessible only to those who need to know it in the performance of their duties.
Nevertheless, because of the nature of the Internet and related technologies, security and confidentiality risks cannot be eliminated, and we cannot guarantee that your personal information will never be disclosed in a manner contrary to this Policy.
Where possible, we ensure that the personal information we hold about you is up to date before using it to make a decision that concerns you.

By contacting us at info@fermeseg.com, you may:
- Request access to your personal information and obtain information about how it is collected, used and disclosed;
- Request that your personal information be corrected or updated;
- Request that your personal information be deleted.
Subject to certain exceptions provided by law, you may obtain reasonable access to the personal information we hold about you, and you have the right to challenge its relevance and accuracy and have it corrected as needed. Deletion requests are processed in accordance with applicable law. Please note that we may still retain certain information to meet our legal and regulatory obligations or if it is still needed for the purposes for which it was collected.
Refusal and withdrawal of consent
By contacting us at info@fermeseg.com, you may withdraw or change your consent to our use and disclosure of your personal information, or refuse to take part in certain uses and disclosures, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. If you refuse to provide your personal information or the required consents, we may be unable to respond to your request or do business with you.
Electronic communications — At any time, you may remove your name from our electronic communications mailing lists by using the unsubscribe link provided or by writing to us.
Cookies — You can block the use of cookies by enabling the relevant setting in your browser.
Retention period
We keep your personal information for as long as we have a legitimate need to do so. Even if you have stopped doing business with us, we may need to retain certain information because, among other reasons, the law requires it. When this information is no longer needed, it is destroyed or anonymized. As part of the destruction process, we follow strict rules and take steps to prevent unauthorized persons from accessing it.
Changes to this Policy
We may make changes or additions to this Policy at any time, and we encourage you to review it periodically. If we make changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
